2008 USSSA NATIONALS TEAM - GRADE 8 DIVISION II
Storm players Byron Galloway, Eric Foster, Jontae Jackson, Jordan Smith, and Terrance Mann were named to the 2008 USSSA National Championship Grade 8 All Tournament Team. There were 35 Grade 8 (Division I & II) Teams that participated in the event. CONGRATULATIONS! The Manatee Storm Grade 8 Division II team finished 3rd Place in the 2008 USSSA Grade 8 Boys Division II National Championship Basketball Tournament held in Fort Wayne, Indiana, July 28-31, 2008. The team photo below was taken prior to their first game against Indiana North Liberty. The Storm defeated the Indiana team by 12 points. There were 421 USSSA Grade 8 Boys Division II registered teams during the 2008 Season. The Storm not only finished their season with an in class record of 26-5 and Ranked #1 in Florida Power Rating, but also defeated the 2008 USSSA Florida Boys Grade 8 Division II State Champions in pool play at the USSSA National Championship Basketball Tournament. The Storm won six (6) Tournament Championships during the 2008 Season. The Storm played 56 different opponents from nine states during the 2008 Season. In 2008 the Manatee Storm organization produced six (6) National All Tournament athletes and one (1) National Academic All Tournament athlete.
